President Joe Biden and other White House officials will meet with a group of business, technology, and education executives on Wednesday to discuss how to combat the increasing cybersecurity threat to the US.

“Cybersecurity is a matter of national security. The public and private sectors must meet this moment together, and the American people are counting on us,” a senior administration official said.

After a year of progressively devastating cyberattacks on network management business SolarWinds Corp, the Colonial Pipeline company, meat processing company JBS, and software firm Kaseya, the White House has stated that it wants to put an end to all of these attacks.

The attacks had far-reaching consequences for the United States, affecting gasoline and food supply as well as the corporations that were hacked.

The guest list includes Amazon.com Inc CEO Andy Jassy, Apple Inc CEO Tim Cook, Microsoft Corp CEO Satya Nadella, Google parent Alphabet Inc CEO Sundar Pichai, and IBM Chief Executive Arvind Krishna, Reuters stated.

JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, TIAA, and US Bancorp are among the financial institutions while Coalition, Vantage Group, Resilience, and Travelers are insurance companies.

Moreover, Code.org, the University of Texas System, Tougaloo College, Girls Who Code, and Whatcom Community College are among the educational institutions with a creative bent.

According to one source, private-sector leaders are expected to declare commitments in crucial sectors such as technology and staffing.

Top cybersecurity officials from the Biden administration, including recently appointed National Cybersecurity Director Chris Inglis and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, will conduct several talks with business executives during the event.
