Apple launches new chips, MacBook Pro and AirPods

Apple launched new MacBook Pro starting at $1,999.

Apple announced new in-house chips which are 70% faster than the earlier chip.

Apple unveiled its new products on Monday including new MacBook Pros, AirPods and processors at its second-event in recent weeks. 

The last event featured iPhones and Smart Watches launching new series of iPhone 13.

Let’s take a look at the products launched today.

New MacBook Pro

The new MacBook Pro comes in two sizes: 14-inch and 16-inch. The 14-inch model starts at $1,999 while the 16-inch model starts at $2,499. Pre-orders of both models start today and shipping will begin next week.

The new models come with MagSafe magnetic connector—which came in older MacBooks—along with the USB-C ports supporting Thunderbolt connections. 

The laptops have an HDMI port and a SD card slot. Apple said that the camera has been upgraded to 1080p for better image quality.

M1 Pro and M1 Max

Apple announced that the new laptops feature the new in-house chips, M1 Pro and M1 Max.

In 2020, Apple launched its own powerful chip—M1 and today said that M1 Pro is 70% faster than the original M1.

The M1 Pro supports 16 CPU core while the M1 Max supports 32 CPU core.

New AirPods

The new AirPods, starting at $179, come with new design and support Spatial audio. The case also comes with the magnetic charger MagSafe.

The third-generation AirPods now has a battery life of six hours rather than five hours and comes with improved water/sweat resistance.

Apple also launched its smart speaker, HomePod Mini, in new colors. HomePod Mini, costing $99, now comes in orange, yellow and blue which was earlier available in white and dark grey.
